Hang time

What are your thoughts on the amount of consistent hang time needed to get results? I believe that everyone thinks that 20 minute sets are the way to go. I am getting about 2-4 sets in for 5 days and then rest two days with 10-12.5 pounds per set using the Bib Hanger. This means I am getting around 40-80 minutes of hang time. Do think there is a minimum requirement?

>>>A minimum could be as little as 5 minutes. Remember, the main objective in hanging is to stretch ligaments (with a lesser, but still important objective of stretching the corpora and corpus). It may be that you DON'T need to hang for long periods of time to make maximum gains. Think about how you'd train if you wanted to increase the flexibility (which means lengthening the potential stretched length of the ligament(s)) of your thighs so that you could do splits. Although the penis itself isn't a muscle, the ligaments that attach to the pubis and tunica are physiologically like those found in skeletal muscles (which is the reason that you can "move" your penis while kegeling).

Is there a maximum amount of time to consider?

Do you think that hanging is superior to manual stretching?

>>>They both have their strengths and weaknesses. With hanging, you get an exact amount of tension feedback that you can log, and your hands are relatively free to do other things. With manual stretches, you can apply very brief, intense stretches that wouldn't be feasible with hanging devices.

I am not looking for advice on how long I will have to do it or how much I can expect to gain in a certain amount of time. I plan on pursuing my current hanging program for 6 months to give it a fair chance (moving up in weight, as appropriate). I also do squeezes and hard jelqing on my hanging days.
